King Gustav III's King's Sword

The sword was commissioned by King Gustav III for his coronation in 1772. The rapier is signed WEILM KLEIN, the signature of its maker.

The regalia, the baptismal font and the coronation cloak can be seen in the Treasury at the Royal Palace of Stockholm.

FACTS
Made by: The grip, scabbard and embroidered crowns were made by Court Embroiderer Christoffer Sergel.

Material: Gold and 299 diamonds, eight emeralds and 32 pearls.

Year: Parts of the sword date from 1620, and are signed by its maker Wilhelm Klein.
