Vesper mass at Strömsholm Chapel

On Gustav Adolf Day, 6 November, an evening mass will be held in the chapel at Strömsholm Palace.

Welcome to an evening mass at Strömsholm Palace Chapel. The mass will be held by priest Cecilia Alsterlund, church musician Susanne Nordin and choir KolCanto.

Free entrance. Limited seats in the chapel, maximum 80 visitors.

Strömsholm Palace Chapel

The chapel at Strömsholm Palace is housed in the garrets of the palace and the sacristy is located in one of the four palace towers. A palace chapel was already planned in Nicodemus Tessin the Elder's drawings from 1668. However, it was not realized until the 1730's when Carl Hårleman was commissioned by Queen Ulrika Eleonora the Younger to complete a chapel on the third floor of the palace.

The Gustav Adolf Day is a theme day and national flag day in Sweden, in commemoration of Gustav II Adolf Opens in new window. (1594–1632), King of Sweden from 1611 to 1632, who died on 6 November 1632 in Lützen.
