National Day at Gripsholm

Celebrate Sweden's National Day with a trip to Mariefred and Gripsholm Castle. This year is the 500th anniversary of when Gustav Vasa was elected as king, and we will be marking the occasion at Gripsholm!

Gripsholm Castle boasts Sweden's best preserved settings from the time of the House of Vasa, and the Vasa jubilee will be celebrated in 2023.

The castle will be open for self-guided tours, and highlights include well-preserved settings from the time of the House of Vasa, King Gustav III's Theatre and the Swedish National Portrait Gallery. There will be a Vasa-themed image hunt for children to carry out.

There will also be a castle tours in in English at 15:00. The tour cost SEK 30 in addition to the entry ticket, and will be purchased at the entry desk (no pre-booking).

The National Day ends at Gripsholm Castle with a dramatic performance with Renaissance music by the popular Romeo & Julia Chorus.
