Cancelled: Young Swedish Soloist – Opera
Soprano Johanna Wallroth is an up-and-coming Swedish opera star for the major stages. This summer she will be performing ‘Musik på Gripsholm’ (Music at Gripsholm) together with pianist Magnus Svensson.
In accordance with the Public Health Agency of Sweden’s recommendations and the Government’s directives several of this spring’s programme events will be postponed or cancelled. Those who have already purchased tickets for these events will be contacted.
In 2019, Johanna Wallroth became the first Swedish winner of The Mirjam Helin Competition in Helsinki, a competition held every five years and known for its high standard, demanding repertoire and renowned jury.
She has performed roles created by Mozart, Humperdinck, Gluck and Daniel Fjellström in Vienna, Moscow, Stockholm and at Läckö Castle. However, when asked, she says that her dream role would be one written especially for her.
The concert in the Hall of State at Gripsholm Castle will see her accompanied by pianist Magnus Svensson, a versatile musician specialising in the art of the Lied. Their programme will include music by Richard Strauss and Samuel Barber.
In collaboration with Scenkonst Sörmland.
