Nobel Banquet 1987

Evening gown of Kelly green silk taffeta with a beautiful draped bodice cascading over the green skirt. Sewn for H.M. The King’s 40th birthday celebration.

Jewellery

The Queen is wearing Queen Sofia’s diamond tiara. With this she is wearing diamond-framed earrings, a diamond necklace with emeralds and an oval diamond brooch with one square emerald. These jewels were originally used as a stately belt, where the oval brooch made up the belt buckle.

Year 2006 marked 30 years since Silvia Sommerlath became Queen of Sweden. It was, among other events, celebrated with an exhibition featuring the evening gowns worn by The Queen to the Nobel Banquets 1976–2006.
